Classics Northwest changes how people experience classical music. Profoundly personal performances open doors to discover and deepen the relationship between music and one another. CNW cultivates the future of classics by showcasing both timeless masterworks and contemporary artists, encouraging innovative performances and providing come-as-you-are moments in musical community.

History · Connoisseur Concerts
Connoisseur Concerts, legal name of the organization branding as Classics Northwest, was organized in 1970 in Spokane, Washington, by Beverly Biggs and David Dutton and was incorporated as a 501c3 Non-Profit organization in 1973.
World-renowned musicians have since held the Artistic Director position:
- Biggs/Dutton (1970-1985)
- Martin Pearlman, Interim Director (1986)
- Stefan Kozinski (1987-1992)
- Gunther Schuller (1993 - 2013)
- Zuill Bailey (2013 - present)
An annual Manito Park concert series began in 1993 with Verne Windham as Music Director. Artistic Director Zuill Bailey has since included the Manito Park events in the overall program focus.
Mission Statement
The mission of Connoisseur Concerts is to present musical performances of world-class quality utilizing local and visiting artists. Every effort is made to educate and to heighten community appreciation of classical music and music history.
Operations · Connoisseur Concerts
A Board of Trustees, comprised of individuals with backgrounds in business, medicine, law, and education provide direction. A professional Executive Director manages the organization.
